PET SAFETY TIPS
The waterways of Tropical North Queensland are crocodile territory. If you are hiking or camping, keep dogs and other pets away from rivers.
Paralysis ticks can be found in many bushland areas of Queensland, including the tropical north. They can be fatal for animals. The danger period is spring and early summer, but they can be a threat year round. Sprays are available to repel ticks, and to minimise the risk of tick paralysis you must check your pets for ticks every day and remove any that you find immediately.

Also, Tropical North Queensland can get very, very hot, even outside of the summer months. It shouldn't need to be said, but make sure you NEVER leave a pet in a parked vehicle without adequate ventilation. Animals can dehydrate and die within as little as fifteen minutes.
